As an organization that works with victims and survivors of violent crime every day, we know all too well how hard it can be for a victim to come forward with their story. Today’s guest is someone who has experienced not only criminal victimization but physical illness as well… nevertheless, she chooses to share her story. We are honored to have Fran Drescher, beloved and best known as “The Nanny” on the podcast today! As a survivor of sexual assault and uterine cancer, we were thrilled for the opportunity to sit down and hear about how she has transformed her trauma and illness into a national movement. She is the founder of Cancer Schmancer whose mission is to empower women to advocate for their health and wellbeing through prevention, early detection, and policy change.
In today’s balanced conversation we ultimately answer this question:
“How can we transform hardship into positive societal change and leave a lasting legacy.”
